Margaret Burkesmith

First and foremost, I want you to know that it would be my honor to ‘hold space’ and support you during your own self-exploration into self realization; whether that be in a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy Session or in a Private or Group (traditional) Yoga Class.

Just prior to having my second son, Connor (in 1996), I was introduced to Yoga, or it to me, not sure which. Being a runner and biker, I was excited to find Yoga because I had a sense that it would assist me in balancing my body within these sports and would create a sense of vitality. At that time, I could not even come close to touching my toes, while sitting or standing.

Today, I continue being dedicated to my own practice and discoveries within it, moving beyond the physical benefits - which initially attracted me. I continue to enjoy teaching, having been doing so since 2002 (children and adults), yet am now a little more challenged with how to approach teaching this subtle, yet profound practice which has changed my life. I am learned in and have taught mostly Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Ashtaanga Yoga. I am filled with gratitude to also be a Certified Practitioner and Teacher of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Andrea Wasserman

Svaroopa® Yoga was an amazing discovery for me, after I had spent years practicing various other styles of yoga. This represented a significant turning point in my life physically, mentally and spiritually. My aches and pains disappeared over time and I learned how wonderful it is to be able to live with a much quieter mind.
         In 2007 I began my yoga teacher training through Master Yoga Foundation, and completed the 700 hours of training required for full certification in 2011.
         In addition to being a Certified Svaroopa® yoga teacher, I am a Certified Embodyment® Yoga Therapist and am available for private yoga therapy sessions.
         I am also a Certified Svaroopa® Vidya Meditation teacher, and offer a 3-part meditation course several times a year.
         I have obtained the Registered Yoga teacher 500 hour level (RYT500) certification from Yoga Alliance, which is the national organization for support and education of yoga teachers in America.
         I stay current with my continuing education credits, taking an Advanced Teacher Training every 1-2 years.  My training offers you a safe and robust yoga experience. Kyle Rickert

Kyle Rickert began seriously studying yoga in 2004, after moving to Los Angeles as a fashion designer.  Her primary focus was vinyasa flow, studying with influential teachers Micheline Berry, Shiva Rea, Hala Khouri, and Marlize Joubert.  Initially seeing yoga as a balancing force between surfing, running and biking, this connection gradually deepened into a source for mental and spiritual clarity.  After gathering creative influence by traveling extensively in Morocco, Southeast Asia and Central America, she moved to Pagosa Springs to start rooting her energy.  Kyle received her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certified training from Shambhava School of Yoga in Nederland, Co in 2010.  Other influential teachers have been Annie Pace, Kyra Haglund, and Sofiah Thom.  Kyle's classes are driven by a love for music, balance and opening to accepting yourself and others around you.


 

Jeanette Pike

Qigong has been a life-changing discovery for me. I went through a very stressful period in my life that left me depleted, physically and emotionally. The seven movements of the Dragon and Tiger Medical Qigong set allowed me to not just recover, but begin to build health and resilience in all areas of my life. I began to practice internal martial arts (tai chi, qigong) in 2011. What started as a unique way to manage stress and improve balance quickly became a deeper, more spiritual practice. Dragon and Tiger qigong has been, for me, a powerful tool to connect mind and body, learn deep relaxation, and physically feel qi. As with other internal martial arts, there are many layers of depth and discovery in this set. It will take me more than a lifetime to learn all there is to know, but what a rewarding journey!


 

Elly Osmera

Elly Osmera encourages students to connect with their true self. Yoga has been a love for over 20 years. Elly has studied with Frog Lotus in Bali (200hr T.T.) Yoga Durango (200hr T.T) Prajna Yoga, and with Amy Ippoito, along with licenses in massage, cosmetology, and biofeedback. She is devoted to and inspired by wellness, and has a true love for people.


 

Sabra Lopez

Sabra Lopez started her yoga journey in 1998 at the age of 19 when she walked into her first yoga class and fell in love with the practice. Her inward study of yoga began when she immersed herself into a 200 hour Integral Yoga residential training program in 2005. This led to 2 further years of service and study at Swami Satchidananda's Ashram/Yogaville where she experienced different traditions and styles of yoga and deepened her understanding of Integral Yoga.

Sabra is a dedicated volunteer who shares her love and passion for yoga. She has been a staff volunteer at the IYI Teacher Training Academy since 2006 and at the Toronto Yoga Conference since 2007. She's honored to be an Ambassador for the Olive Tree Foundation. She is also an Alumni Ambassador for Lululemon Athletica, Sabra has taught yoga all over North America in various venues, such as, yoga studios, dance studios, parks, beaches, retreat centers, private homes, elementary and high schools; children's camps, and museums since 2005. She has studied with teachers such as Satya Greenstone, Baron Baptiste, Sadie Nardini, Jai Uttal and many more. Sabra has taught: Yoga for Children, Yoga for Teens, Family Yoga, Hot Yoga, Partner Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Thai Yoga Massage, Power Yoga, Core Vinyassa Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Private Classes.

Seeing others blossom into their light through the practice of yoga is truly Sabra's life's purpose. She has witnessed the powerful impact yoga has had on many other people's lives as well as her own.



 

Gunnar Bergkamp

Gunnar began practicing pranayama in Alaska as a child, but it wasn’t until a trip to India, that Gunnar began a consistent exploration of yoga and meditation. As an action sports enthusiast, Gunnar first found asana as an injury-prevention science. With some time, this evolved into a deeper awareness practice that he finds passion in sharing today! Gunnar has studied with many traditions; Integral Path, Mahayana, Christian, and with The Art of Living Foundation, just to name a few. He received his 200-hour yoga alliance certification from Yoga Durango, and also enjoys a wide variety of practices such as; martial arts, chi cultivation, calisthenics, laughing yoga, and many others.
